Melanie Kuperstein

Founder, Artistic Director, Violin

Born into a musical family, Melanie has been performing and teaching in Maryland for the past 15 years. She plays regularly with many local orchestras including Maryland Symphony, Midatlantic Symphony, Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, as well as having the position of Associate Principal Second Violin of Fairfax Symphony Orchestra. She has also subbed with many orchestras such as New World Symphony, Delaware Symphony, Annapolis Symphony, Lancaster Symphony, and has regularly subbed as Principal Second Violin of Reading Symphony Orchestra. Melanie received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in violin performance from the University of Maryland in 2012 and 2015 respectively. Her primary teachers include James Stern (UMD), Elisabeth Adkins (NSO), and Kim Fisher (Philadelphia Orchestra). Founding MIME has been a dream of Melanie's for years and she is very excited for it to become a reality.
